Program Overview

This hands-on program equips engineers with the theory and practical skills to perform load flow (power flow) studies on transmission and distribution networks. Participants model real feeders, run Newton-Raphson and Gauss-Seidel solutions, interpret bus voltages and line loadings, and produce compliant engineering reports.

What you will learn

  • Build accurate single-line diagrams in ETAP
  • Run and validate load flow solutions
  • Identify voltage violations and overloaded equipment
  • Recommend capacitor placement and tap settings
  • Produce grid-code compliant study reports

Curriculum highlights

01Per-unit system & network modelling
02Newton-Raphson vs Gauss-Seidel solvers
03Transformer & cable data preparation
04Voltage drop & reactive compensation
05Report writing & QA
